It’s hard to believe that it was way back in 2013 when the Burton U·S·Open made the move from Vermont to Vail. Every year since, it’s been one of our favorite local annual events to attend. Definitely mark your calendar and find time to make it to Vail’s Golden Peak Feb 24-29, 2020!

The best of the best will gather on Golden Peak for the world’s best in Halfpipe & Slopestyle. In between watching the athletes, be sure to visit the Sponsor Village for fun giveaways, treats and expos. Kiddos ages 3-6 can take a turn with a snowboard in Riglet Park. And don’t forget to enjoy some après fun and then hit up the FREE CONCERTS! There’s fun for everyone in Vail the week of Burton U·S·Open.

What’s new this year, you ask? Get ready for a new Halfpipe Course Design at the 2020 U·S·Open. The event page at www.Events.Burton.com explains, “Shaking things up in a big way for 2020, we completely reimagined the U·S·Open halfpipe before running it by some trusted members of the competitive circuit. It starts with a 13-foot minipipe, featuring 6-foot tombstones, that transitions into a standard 22-footer. Competitors will get about three hits in the first section and three to four more hits in the second section depending on their line. Rollers on the left and right sides where the mini and full-size pipes meet will allow riders to catch air as they transition between sections. Creativity, style, and skill are what it will take to rise to the top and rule this new chapter in U·S·Open halfpipe history ” Check out the new design…wow!
