A Local’s Perspective…

We are Didi Doolittle & Andy Owen, the Founders of Vail Valley Local.  After moving around the country for years, looking for that special place to call home, we knew we found it when we moved to the Vail Valley in 2005.  After living all over the country and traveling throughout the world, we’ve long believed the best way to experience a new place is to get the Local’s Perspective.  We’d always ask the locals for their favorite eats/drinks, hikes/bikes and adventures.

There’s a saying frequently used by Locals – “We moved here for the winters, but stayed for the summers.”  With year-round adventures, this perfectly encapsulates our experience and life in the Vail Valley and we want to share it with you.  Spanning from East Vail to Gypsum, we love everything this Valley has to offer!

There’s so much to do here in our Vail Valley, events to attend, restaurants to try, places to explore, and it can sometimes be overwhelming deciding what to choose.  This website is a passion project of ours, wanting to create one place to find it all.  We’re here to help you Live like a Local in the Vail Valley!
