Have you introduced your tiny humans to classical music yet? Well, Bravo! Vail offers some amazing opportunities to experience world-class orchestras right here in our back yard with some great “family-friendly” themed nights this year, your kiddos are bound to have a ball! Lawn tickets are $28 for adults and only $5 for children under 12 years old.
Here are our recommendations for the 2018 summer line-up…
June 29 – Women Rock
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the most legendary female singers of our time and the iconic songs that made them famous. From Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin to Joan Jett and Pat Benatar, this show will leave audiences “dancing in the streets” singing “I love rock and roll!”
July 2 – Movie Music – Out of this World
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will take us on a musical voyage to distant galaxies, with exciting, powerful themes from Star Trek, Star Wars, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, and more.
July 4-8 Asphalt Orchestra
A “new-music group disguised as a ragtag marching band” (New York Times) made up of NYC’s most exciting rock, jazz, and classical players, will bring thrilling arrangements to the streets and other public spaces throughout the Vail Valley this summer. You won’t want to miss what The New York Times raves is “part parade spectacle, part halftime show and part cutting-edge contemporary music concert… cooly brilliant and infectious. July 11 – Raiders of the Lost Ark – Film with Live Score
note special start time: 7:30pm
The Philadelphia Orchestra will present RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, complete film (including dialogue) with live orchestra performing the entire score. A Bravo! Vail tradition takes on a new adventure! As dusk descends, follow Indiana Jones on his famous quest while the Fabulous Philadelphians perform John Williams’ epic score live. Grab a blanket and some popcorn and bring the whole family for this unique Bravo! experience.
